Cinco de Mayo Pt1--The Camp

Was this annual group event in the San Rafael a camping trip or a political rally?

Very ominous...

The cactus marks the spot...

Tent humping...  what's really going on under there?

Toilet facilities ranged from crude to, well, obvious...  too obvious...  what happened to a little privacy?

And husbands were going cheap...

Soon most campers arrived and set up their sites.  Just in time because a shower soon struck forcing everyone under shelter...  But then the sun poked out and produced a wonderful rainbow.  And the late afternoon light did wonders for the desert formations.

Soon dark ascended...  and the drinking got heavy...  too heavy for photos...

One Hundred Dollar Lunch

Talk about expensive girlfriend...   We are up in Malibu for Willis' graduation from Pepperdine.  So M. decides we need lunch at Geoffrey's, one of those high end restaurants along the ocean.  Well the food and wine (and atmosphere) were great, but $100+ for lunch???  Not in my league...

The Graduate

Well, not Dustin Hoffman, but Willis Clow...

I'm quite proud of Willis...  quite a transformation in this young man.  From great musician to Pepperdine MBA (from starving musician to well paid bank representative).  Somewhere along the line he decided he had more in him than teaching guitar to little kids and playing occasional gigs for token dough.  So he relaunched himself, and more than the academics, he was elected class president and won accolades for his leadership abilities.

This weekend was graduation, and we all wish him well (as top recruit by Bank of America).  It'll be a little strange visiting him for financial advice (what finances I may have) rather than catching his guitar playing in some dingy little club.  But I'm confident he will do well in his new career.

The extended family pics from the beautiful Malibu campus...

And I'm still waiting for the Porsche in the driveway...

UPDATE!  pics from the graduation ceremony...

Professor Lacey provided inspiration and advice that helped Willis succeed.

Capped and gowned...

And now with the family...

More Femme Fatales

Ah, well, yes indeed...  Will dreams ever come true...   Jane Greer has always fascinated me.  She had a distinctive look, voice,  and manner...  and her films with Robert Mitchum are classics.  Give a look at "Out of the Past", probably one of the greatest and most popular film noirs.
