The Big Cruise--Leaving NYC

After a few nights in NYC, we were off on the big cruise. But first, above are a couple shots of the spectacular Manhattan skyline from the freeway (catch the knock on the Mets in the first pic). Just as we started across the Brooklyn Bridge, we got a good view of the new Frank Gehry apartment building... amazing... I'm not sure you can tell from the pic the twisting effect that occurs in this building. Supposedly it didn't cost any more to construct the effect...

Then it was down to the Brooklyn docks, and at the cruise terminal, we found this big fucking boat! Yep, it was our cruise line! 3700 passengers, 1100 crew!

After settling in, it was up on deck for the NYC farewell. Drinks in hand, we waved farewell to the Big Apple.

Of course, we cruised by the Statue of Liberty...

We had to do life boat drill... here's the stylin' cruisin' couple with Manhattan in the background..

Then under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and into open water.

And... The End... at the end...
