Bluff 2025 Pt. 1

Following our wonderful trip last year, we decided to repeat our exploration of SE Utah.  Once again,  we reserved rooms at the rustic, historic, eternal Recapture Lodge in Bluff.  Here's a shot of the highway leading south from Hanksville towards the Bears Ears area.  And our faithful companion Max...

We hit big rain near the Natural Bridges junction, so we adjusted our route to stay on the highway eastbound.  Of course, 5 minutes later the rain stopped.  We got tremendous views of Comb Ridge and the washes as we drove.  At a view point, I took a couple shots of Butler Wash to get a perspective.

After the long drive, we decided to take it easy and just drive out to the Goosenecks before dinner.  Thanks to the advice of the ranger, we didn't drive any further than 200 yards (!).

And an old truck outside a gallery in Bluff...  nice area!

Back at the motel, we enjoyed pretty goo BBQ at the restaurant across the street.  Then early to bed because we had an hour's drive to our tour the next day.
